The cost of domestic travel provided by Australian domestic airlines vary. This will depend on whether what you are aiming to buy is a flexible ticket or not. A flexible ticket enables you to change the time and date of travel or it can change your ticket to a cheaper restricted ticket.

The other option is the restricted ticket where in it is cheaper than the flexible ticket but you are "restricted" to the time and date chosen. If there are changes, you will pay a booking fee among others. This type of ticket is almost always sold out. And the closer it is to the date of flight, the more sold out it is. Bus tickets and restricted airline tickets cost about the same more or less.

If you want to go to a different part in Australia, you will need to travel on one of Australia's many domestic airlines. There are the budget airlines such as Tiger Airways, or there is the full service airlines such as Qantas, the country's national carrier. Jetstar is owned by Qantas, but is also a budget airline. Virgin Blue is another full service airline with a lower cost structure.

What we can look forward to is it could get a lot better especially when it comes to the airfare cost even with the increase in fuel prices. They are still looking into price drop all the more to give options for Australians to travel within the Aussie vicinity. If others can enjoy the sights and sounds of Australia, so can you.
